Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Title: Growing conditions for non-native Thlaspi caerulescens
Answered by: Nan Hampton
QUESTION:
I want to know what is the best condition for growing Thlaspi caerulescens and what is its life span. ThanksANSWER:
Thlaspi caerulescens is a European plant that is noted for its phytoremediation properties (addressed in the answer to a previous question to Mr. Smarty Plants). Since our focus and expertise are with plants native to North America, we don't have any information on the life cycle and cultivation of T. caerulescens.
