We have a small yard in Dallas with a four foot chainlink fence. Our neighbor has positioned his patio furniture to face our backyard. What kind of Texas native shrubs can we plant near our fence to provide some privacy?ANSWER:
Here are several suggestions, both evergreen and deciduous.Evergreen:
Lonicera sempervirens (trumpet honeysuckle), a vine
Deciduous:
Callicarpa americana (American beautyberry)
Cornus drummondii (roughleaf dogwood)
Frangula caroliniana (Carolina buckthorn)
Lonicera albiflora (western white honeysuckle), sometimes vine-like
Symphoricarpos orbiculatus (coralberry)
Lonicera sempervirens (trumpet honeysuckle)
