Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Proximity of orange trees in Phoenix AZ
Answered by: Barbara Medford

QUESTION:

Do I need to plant my orange tree away from my neighbors orange tree?

ANSWER:

Citrus sinensis is native to Vietnam, northwest India and southern China. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is dedicated to the care and support of plants native not only to North America but to the area in which the plant is being grown. Therefore, your question is out of our area of expertise. This Floridata site on Citrus sinensis could give you some help with your question.
