Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Answered by: Sage Kawecki

QUESTION:

What is an endangered plant?

ANSWER:

Many plant species are disappearing at an alarming rate due directly or indirectly to human activities, especially habitat loss. Thanks to the passage of the Endangered Species Act of 1973, plants that are rare, threatened and endangered are now federally listed and protected by law. To learn more, visit the Center for Plant Conservation website.
