Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

Title: Is the fruit of Bradford Pears toxic to dogs?
Answered by: Jimmy Mills

QUESTION:

I need to know if the little Berries on the Bradford Pear trees are toxic to dogs? My labrador loves eating them. Thank you,

ANSWER:

The little berries (aka pomes) are the the fruit of the Bradford Pear, and are considered inedible by humans. Labradors apparently have a different view.

I'm providing a link to a previously answered question that addresses this question nicely.
