USA: TXNative Habitat: Cooperia jonesii grows primarily in low fields that are subject to seasonal inundation, but also extends to higher and drier locations. It is found along the Texas Coastal Bend.

Conditions Comments: The fragrant yellow flowers open in mid-afternoon, and blooms best in full sun. The blooms are dark yellow on the first day, turning a light cream-yellow on the second day. Like other Rain lilies, the bulbs naturalize well in a lawn, low groundcover area, or short-grass meadow. Cooperia jonesii grows from a bulb that generally does not produce offsets. The grass-like leaves and flower stems appear quickly after it rains.
