Pale yellow, bell-shaped flowers hanging from very slender stalks in a branched cluster; delicate, erect, branched stems covered with sticky hairs exuding a somewhat medicinal but pleasant odor.
The dried-up corolla remains on the plant as a tissue-paper-like bell that rustles in gentle breezes. In the hills of southern California plants may have pink corollas.
